REC’s Academy

REC’s Academy (hereinafter referred to as the “Academy”) is committed to protecting your personal information and adheres to the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea, as well as the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

Through this Privacy Policy, the Academy informs you of how and for what purposes your personal information is collected and used, and of the measures taken to protect it.

If the Academy revises this Privacy Policy, it will notify users through a website notice (or individual notice, where applicable).

This Policy shall be effective from January 1, 2026

Personal Information Items Collected

The Academy collects the following personal information for consultations, university admission support, Korean language program coordination, visa guidance, and related educational services.

Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information

The Academy uses collected personal information for the following purposes:

Responding to inquiries and consultation requests

Providing academic pathway guidance and university matching

Coordinating admission applications

Assisting with visa documentation and immigration compliance

Identity verification for service use

Preventing misuse and unauthorized access

Handling complaints and delivering official notices

Understanding access frequency and compiling service usage statistics

Personal information is not used for purposes other than those stated above.

Personal Information Retention and Use Period

In principle, once the purpose of collecting and using personal information has been achieved, the information is destroyed without delay.

However, where preservation is required by relevant laws and regulations, the Academy retains such information for the legally prescribed period as follows:

Procedures and Methods for Destruction of Personal Information

In principle, personal information is destroyed without delay when a user withdraws from services or when the purpose of collection and use has been fulfilled.

A.Destruction Procedures

Personal information is transferred to a separate database (or separate filing cabinet in the case of paper documents) after the purpose has been achieved.

It is stored for a legally required period according to internal policies and applicable laws before being destroyed.

Retained personal information is not used for any purpose other than that required by law.

B.Destruction Methods

Personal information printed on paper is destroyed by shredding or incineration.

Personal information stored in electronic file format is permanently deleted using technical methods that render recovery impossible.

Provision of Personal Information

The Academy does not, in principle, provide users’ personal information to third parties.

However, personal information may be provided in the following cases:

When users have given prior consent

When required by law

When requested by investigative agencies in accordance with lawful procedures

User and Legal Representative Rights and How to Exercise Them

Users may view or modify their registered personal information at any time and may request withdrawal of service or cancellation of consent.

To review or modify personal information, users may contact the Academy via official communication channels. To withdraw consent or cancel services, users may submit a written or email request.

After identity verification, the Academy will process requests without delay.

If a user requests correction of personal information, the Academy will not use or provide the relevant information until the correction is completed. If incorrect personal information has already been provided to a third party, the Academy will promptly notify the third party of the correction to ensure proper amendment.

Personal information that has been withdrawn or deleted is processed in accordance with the retention policy and cannot be viewed or used for other purposes.

Installation, Operation, and Rejection of Automatic Personal Information Collection Devices

The Academy operates “cookies” and similar technologies that store and retrieve user information from time to time.

Cookies are small text files sent by the website server to the user’s browser and stored on the user’s device.

Purpose of Cookie Use :

Analysis of access frequency and visit duration

Identification of user preferences and areas of interest

Statistical analysis to improve services

Provision of personalized services

Users may choose to allow all cookies, confirm each time a cookie is saved, or reject all cookies through browser settings.

If cookies are rejected, certain services may not function properly.

Technical and Administrative Protection Measures

The Academy establishes and applies technical and administrative measures to protect personal information.

1)Technical Measures

a.

Personal information is securely stored using encryption algorithms. Important data is protected through encrypted transmission and additional security mechanisms.

b.

Antivirus programs are regularly updated to prevent damage caused by malicious software.

c.

Intrusion prevention systems and vulnerability analysis systems are used to protect against hacking and external attacks.

2)Administrative Measures

a.

The Academy establishes internal procedures for accessing and managing personal information and ensures employee compliance.

b.

Access to personal information is limited to authorized personnel only.

c.

Identification codes (ID) and passwords are assigned and regularly updated for authorized access.

d.

Employees are required to sign confidentiality and personal information protection agreements.

e.

Regular training is conducted on data protection obligations and security technologies.

f.

Duties related to personal information processing are securely transferred, and responsibility for incidents is clearly defined.
